ALL Hail The Unknown Soldier!!!

Whether it's sleeping on 5 pillows on the floor of AUH's BMT Unit, or lying next to Zee at the Royal Marsden Children's Ward; whether it's eating sandwiches when u r diabetic and it's the worst thing for him or sneaking out early in the morning for a coffee and a smoke; whether it's putting on the bravest, most supportive face for me or the funniest, most loving one for Zee, you cannot help but admire the unknown soldier, Wiss.
A man of very few words, he has put his life on the side to help me (and now Zee) get through the toughest periods of our lives. He's forgotten about his passion, his painting, and only sketches from time to time to keep his hands working. He's deleted the 'ever-so-precious' afternoon nap, the quiet few hours in his room in the morning, the 'time-out' he slips away to just to be there for us. I don't think I've ever known anyone become so selfless, so unselfish, so devoted to anyone as much before. And I'm not just saying that cuz he's my husband (Lord knows I wouldn't have been able to do so much had I been in his shoes, God forbid!)
So, for those who have mentioned 'The Forgotten Soldier" in their comments earlier, thank you from Wiss and me. And for those who don't know Wiss, or are still 'discovering' him (as I am still), well guys, we have a gem on our hands.
Allah ykhalleek fo2 rasna habibi, and God give you strength to carry on this journey till the near and happy end, inshallah.

Love you,
H

it's true he's always been a man of few words, but actions speak louder than words and he is a hero in my book. For this and for sooooo many other things - yes, you do have a gem, sweetie pie, and you are a gem too.

Your love for each other is a treasure

ok - i'll have to come back when i can make more sense - you know you're always on my mind and in my heart

We admired the unknown soldier from the beginning! maybe he doesn't like the footlights whereby I would better call him the "deus ex machina" always present and able to solve any situation.
You never dedicated him a post but you always shown how much you appreciate what he is doing for both and your smiles in the pictures with him are more eloquent than any words.
He really deserves all your lovely words, he is a special person like you and your product, the lovely Zee can't be but better.
Con affetto
Cristina

We virtual friends have been wondering all along how Wissam has held it together through all this terrible time.
What torture for him and how he has been there, cheering and supporting and (dare I say) tidying up - he has accepted his role as rock and bystander, while he must have felt unbearable helplessness, grief, anger and fear.
I hope he will soon be able to go back to sleeping and creeping away to be himself without fear of what may happen when he isn't on watch. May the happy healthy times come very soon.

Hail Soldier! Bless you Wiss for all you have endured for your loving family. God has given you a challenge and you have all risen to it. God bless you each and every member of the Beydoun family. All have been through a lot, even the ones left behind in Beirut have a lot to bear. But it is almost over and soon, inshalla, God will bless you and send you home again. I'll be lighting a candle for you tomorrow. Bless you all.

I was always looking out for your pictures, info about you and how you are faring. Thankfully Hala , the amazing person she is, filled us in on the news. You are a soldiere, keeping a vigilant watch over our precious girls. And for that we thank thee so much. What you probably need is someone to watch over you! Ya3teek el afieh!
